What I teach

Three routes, one tutor who knows your child

Every student gets a plan built around where they are now and the exam they are actually sitting — not a generic syllabus.

Year 5 – Year 6

11+ Preparation

The 11+ is as much about working quickly under pressure as it is about knowing the content, so we build both at the same time.

We cover the four question types together — maths, English, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning — and then move to full timed papers once your child is comfortable, so the real exam feels like something they have already done.

Along the way I keep you informed about which areas are strong and which still need work, rather than leaving you to guess from a score.

KS3 – GCSE

Maths

Most students who find maths hard are not bad at maths — they have a gap somewhere earlier that never got filled, and everything built on top of it feels unstable.

So the first few lessons are diagnostic. Once I know where the gap is we close it, and then the topic that seemed impossible usually stops being impossible.

From Year 10 onwards we work almost entirely from past papers, because knowing the maths and knowing how the exam asks for it are two different skills.

Science

GCSE Science rewards precision. Students lose marks not because they do not understand something, but because they write four marks' worth of an idea in a six-mark question.

We cover the content properly, including the required practicals that so often come up, and then practise writing answers that actually collect the marks available.

Whether your child is sitting Combined or Triple Science, I teach to their board's specification rather than a generic syllabus.
